Today Gresham and Malita's teacher accompanied Malita for her regular check at the San John hospital in Mzuzu. Upon arrival the doctor informed them this will be his last month at the hospital since he is going for further studies. However, he had a presentation letter for them for one of his colleagues currently working at the hospital of Chinteche.
Chinteche is a small village very close to where Malita goes to school. This hospital receives many funds for HIV and has the same equipments of the facility in Mzuzu. Another advantage is that being close to the school, the doctors are perfectly aware of the living conditions of the people in that area and this can help them when giving advice/cures to their patients.
Gresham and Malita went immediately to visit this facility and met the new doctor. They were warmly welcomed and very satisfied of the treatment received.
Moreover, the CD4 count raised from 345 to 555. Another good news for Malita's health!
Oggi Gresham e uno degli insegnanti hanno accompagnato Malita alla visita di routine al San John Hospital di Mzuzu. Il loro dottore li ha ricevuti informandoli che quella sarebbe stata l'ultima volta che lui visitava Malita poiché aveva deciso di riprendere gli studi. Comunque aveva già preparato una lettera di presentazione per un suo bravo collega dell' ospedale di Chinteche.
Chinteche è un piccolo villaggio non lontano da dove Malita va a scuola. L' ospedale riceve molti fondi per il trattamento e la lotta contro l'HIV e ha le stesse strumentazioni di quello a Mzuzu. Inoltre, trovandosi nella stessa area della scuola, i dottori sono ben informati sulle condizioni di vita delle persone in quella zone e quindi possono meglio consigliare i loro pazienti.
Gresham e Malita sono andati immediatamente a vedere questo nuovo ospedale e a conoscere il nuovo dottore. Questo li ha accolti calorosamente e sono rimasti molto soddisfatti del trattamento ricevuto.
La conta dei CD4 di Malita è cresciuta da 345 a 355. Un'altra buona notizia per il suo stato di salute!
