In the course of this week, in Nkhata Bay, they have been transferrring some materials to the new shelter site and the real construction has started. The first two corner pillars have been erected and by next week all the foundation will be through.
Everyone is doing his part, starting from the women to the builders, the contractor and Gresham, who is supervising the works.
Just to give you an idea, they need to bring 12000 bricks to the site. Now, each trip is costing 6500 MK carrying 1500 bricks each time. On top of this there are also sand and stones to be transferred from Mzuzu to the construction site.
Nel corso di quest'ultima settimana a Nkhata Bay sono stati molto impegnati a trasferire alcuni dei materiali da costruzione al nuovo appezzamento di terreno. I lavori sono già cominciati ed i primi due assi portanti degli angoli sono stati messi insieme. Entro la prossima settimana tutte le fondamenta saranno pronte.
Come abbiamo visto dalle foto, ognuno sta facendo la sua parte: le donne, i costruttori, il capo cantiere e Gresham, che controlla l' andamento dei lavori.
Giusto per darvi un'idea, devono trasportare 12000 mattoni per construire la nuova scuola. Ogni viaggio costa 6500 MK e permette di trasportare 1500 mattoni. Oltre a ciò si devono trasportare anche la terra e le pietre per fare una sorta di cemento.
