After a long time waiting, the mattresses we promised to the Bandawe School for the Deaf are now in place. On wednesday there was a nice ceremony at the school to celebrate the event.
As usual the teachers and Gresham had a small speech, thanking the donors for their big heart and also Malita, since without her all this would not have happened. A small group of parents was also there. From their side, the teachers promised to take very good care of this gift and said that if anyone will visit them in 5 years from now, all the mattresses would still be in fair conditions. 
Thanks to Rosalyne and her family now a good night of sleep is no longer just a dream for 61 of these students!!
This year the school enrolled 71 children, which means that now 8 are still sleeping on the floor (the other 2 brought their own mattress).
The event was further celebrated with some dancing and drinking some soft drinks.
Dopo una lunga attesa, i materassi che avevamo promesso alla Bandawe School for the Deaf hanno raggiunto il loro destinatario. Mercoledí l'evento è stato celebrato con gioia.
Come sempre, gli insegnanti e Gresham hanno sottolineato la loro gratitudine verso coloro che hanno regalato loro i materassi e anche verso Malita. Senza la sua presenza tutto ciò non sarebbe mai accaduto. Anche una piccola rappresentanza dei genitori era presente all'evento e si è unita ai ringraziamenti. Da parte loro, gli insegnanti hanno promesso di prendersi cura di questo regalo nel migliore dei modi. Hanno detto che se qualcuno andrà a trovarli nei prossimi 5 anni potrà vedere con i suoi occhi che i materassi sono ancora lí ed in ottime condizioni.
Gli insegnanti hanno anche aggiornato Gresham sul fatto che le lezioni quest'anno comprendono anche il lavoro a maglia e l'economia domestica. Malita e i suoi amici sono particolarmente contenti di questa novità.
Grazie a Rosalyne e alla sua famiglia, ora la possibilità di avere una buona e comoda notte di sonno non è più solo un sogno per questi studenti.
Quest'anno 71 bambini si sono iscritti alla scuola, il che significa che ora solamente 8 di loro dormono ancora sul pavimento (2 si sono portati il materasso da casa).
Per celebrare ulteriormente quest'evento i bambini si sono esibiti in qualche ballo e poi hanno bevuto qualche bevanda fresca.
