Today it was the last day before the Christmas holidays at Wukani Education Facility.
After writing their exams, Joyce, Ramos and Witness were excited to get their final marks and to be able to go back to Nkhata Bay for a while.
As usual the day was marked by a big ceremony at the school and there were a lot of speeches during which the value of education at Wukani was underlined. They basically said that 'education is not cheap'. This is true not only because it costs a lot of money to send the children there, but also because it asks a lot of energies and efforts from the students themselves.
Both Gresham and Witness's aunt were present at the closing ceremony.
Now it is time for the children to enjoy some holiday and to keep up with what they are doing also during the rest of the year.
Oggi è stato l'ultimo giorno di scuola a Wukani Education Facility, prima della chiusura del trimestre e delle vacanze natalizie.
Dopo aver finito le prove di quest' anno, è tempo per Joyce, Ramos e Witness di ricevere le loro pagelle e tornare a casa a Nkhata Bay per qualche tempo.
Come sempre, la cerimonia di chiusura è stata molto sentita da tutti. Molti insegnanti hanno parlato spiegando ancora una volta quale sia il valore dell' istruzione per Wukani. In pratica hanno detto che 'l'istruzione costa molto' e non solo in termini di denaro, ma anche in termini di energie che gli studenti devono impiegare per fare del loro meglio.
Sia Gresham che la zia di Witness hanno partecipato alla cerimonia di chiusura.
Ora per i bambini è ora di tornare a Nkhata Bay e godersi qualche settimana di vacanza prima di continuare con i loro studi l'anno prossimo con ancora maggiore impegno.
