Also this month we received the usual nice
report from Freighton about the 5 children he is now taking care of.
For Katie the main target was to take care
of her health and in particular to provide her with sufficient food. As you
certainly remember Katie lives in extremely poor conditions and very often
there is not enough food at home to have breakfast. If this occurs Katie is
very prone to skip school. She reported to Frighton that the reason for this is
that she feels very weak. Moreover when at school she sees the food being
brought by the other children, the situation gets even worse, since she cannot
think of anything else than something to put in her stomach. In order to avoid
this she skips school all together. Of course the food has to suffice not only
for Katie, but also for the rest of the family.
Freighton bought for her maize corn, powder
milk and sugar. He also brought an umbrella, an essential item now that the
rainy season is starting.
Anche questo mese abbiamo ricevuto un bel report da Freighton sui 5 bambini di cui al momento si prende cura.
Per Katie questa volta l'obiettivo principale è stato prendersi cura della sua salute ed in particulare far sì che avesse abbastanza cibo. Come sicuramente vi ricordate Katie vive in condizioni di estrema povertà e molto spesso non c'è cibo a sufficienza per fare colazione. Quando questo accade Katie tende a non andare a scuola. Si sente debole e andare in classe e vedere altri bambini che mangiano la loro merenda la fa sentire ancora peggio. Naturalmente il cibo che le è stato portato da Freighton verrà diviso con gli altri membri della sua famiglia.
Freighton ha comprato della farina di mais, latte in polvere e zucchero. Ha anche comprato un ombrello in quanto la stagione delle piogge è ormai iniziata.
