As explained in the 'project' page, after spending some time in Nkhata Bay we (Laura and Mauro) decided to start with Marajowi to try and give at least some of the children of this village a better chance in life.
After 5 years we are still happily managing this project from the Netherlands, where we live. It does take a lot of energy to keep things going from far, but seeing the smiles on the children faces is the best reward we will ever get.
Come spiegato nella pagina 'Progetto' , dopo aver trascorso del tempo a Nkhata Bay, abbiamo deciso di fondare Marajowi. Il nostro scopo e' dare una chance a qualcuno dei bimbi di questo villaggio.
Dopo 5 anni, io (Laura) e Mauro siamo ancora felici di portare avanti questo progetto, anche se dall'Olanda, dove viviamo. Riuscire a mandare avanti Marajowi da così lontano richiede moltissima energia, ma niente ci da più soddisfazione e motivazione che vedere il sorriso dei bambini dopo che abbiamo fatto qualche cosa per loro.
During the first 3 years, Gresham Agile Ng'Ambi helped us having a successful start of Marajowi. Unfortunately when we finally got some more substantial donation and started doing something extra, Gresham was not able to handle the sudden 'fortune' and behaved in a completely unethical way. Today we don't know anything about his whereabouts.
Luckily we were able to establish a good working relation with Clement Gambo, one of the old teachers of Wukani Education Facility. from February 2014 on, he has been helping us managing Ramos, Witness, Joyce and their families. As of today, we feel lucky to have met these people who are contributing so significantly to the success of Marajowi.

Nei primi 3 anni di vita di Marajowi, l'aiuto di Gresham Agile Ng'Ambi ad iniziare tutte le attività relative a questo progetto è stato veramente essenziale. Purtroppo quando abbiamo cominciato a ricevere qualche contributo un po' più significativo e fare qualche cosa in più, Gresham non è riuscito a gestire la 'fortuna' che gli era capitata tra le mani. Si è cominciato a comportare in modo completamente inaffidabile e al momento non abbiamo idea di dove sia.
Fortunatamente abbiamo incontrato Clement Gambo, uno degli ex insegnanti della Wukani Education Facility. Da Febbraio 2014 è lui ad aiutarci a gestire Ramos, Witness e Joyce, a soddisfare le loro esigenze e a comunicare con le loro famiglie. Qui sopra una foto di Clement con la sua famiglia.
At the same time we also managed to establish a good relationship with the teachers at the Bandawe School for the Hearing Impaired that Malita is attending. As of today Mr Lerapia Banda, the Head of the school, is helping us to make sure that all the needs of Malita are met and she is fine at school. Here is a photo of Malita together with him.
Allo stesso tempo siamo anche riusciti a costruire una buona relazione con gli insegnanti della Bandawe School for the hearing impaired dove è iscritta Malita. Oggi è Mr Lerapia Banda, uil preside della scuola, ad aiutarci e a far sí che Malita stia bene a scuola. Qui sopra una sua foto insieme a Malita.
